The BBC have this article about teenagers and sleep; it's not helpful. When you are desperately trying to pursuade your teenager to go to bed at reasonable times and get up properly in the mornings you don't want them to have scientific evidence to support their wish to stay in bed.
In other news it appears that I should switch my impression of a dad's army character from the one who thinks we're all doomed to Mr. Jones (don't panic). It appears that what I got the other week was merely a helpful kick up the backside, not a boot towards the door. I have, apparently, been putting 2 and 2 together recently and coming up with 5. Still, it has all made me think about how I am using my time, how I write and got me a bit more focused about what I'm doing here. So as I am learning, the motto to keep hold of with post-grad study is "nothing is wasted". Personally I'm getting a fondness for the Vinny Jones quote ,which I think is an equally apt motto, "it's been emotional".
