Glossy nonsense

I'm at the moment wading through, with Third Party, the prospectuses for various schools in the general area of place with a rather good uni and cathedral up north, which aren't over subscribed. It's wierd because we don't yet know exactly where we'll end up; (everything is still at the stage where it feels like I've jumped out of a plane and the parachutes not opened).

Still we are ploughing through trying to get a feel of the schools in the area. However, I have realised that these documents are all fluff and nonsense. As somebody who lives in the world of education and educational b*** s*** I spout this kind of thing regularly. Therefore, it's not telling me much about the schools themselves. This is frustrating. The worst example I have found of the nonsense in a prospectus has to be the school which had just cut and pasted 3 sections of the governments "Every Child Matters" strategy, (without referencing) and said this was the ethos they were working to.

It makes me think Third Party's approach of turning straight to the uniform to decide can she see herself wearing it or not is not such a bad way of doing things.
