Slumbdog Millionaire - Worth the accolades?

Not being snowed in here, went to see Slumbdog Millionaire Monday night.  I initially wasn't too keen, thinking that despite the accolades it might be abit of a depressing night out. As it was I was pleasantly surprised.

As with Trainspotting, which was also directed by Danny Boyle and The Full Monty which was also written by  Simon Beaufoy it had that mix of gritty drama, ironic dark comedy and rather tragic element of romance. This all adds up to a fast moving film which constantly edges you from being disturbed and angry to being highly amused. Its pace keeps your attention as the story unfolds.

Have to say it is probably the cleverest plot writing I've ever seen in terms of taking all the essential elements of drama and mixing them together in an innovative way which is still deceptively simple.

Not sure I'd say I enjoyed this film as such, but certainly would recommend it. It's one of things I reckon everybody should see once in their lives.
