Carry On Lifestyle

There are times when my life feels like a carry on movie. Today has been one of those days.

Wake up to find that daughters tonsils have increased even more in size and so eating and drinking is now nigh on impossible. Phone to get emergancy doctors appointment as was told this was course of action to follow if things get worse.

Take her to appointment, thankfully at hospital next door and get new prescription - she will be able to swallow the medicine - it will just hurt. At same time kind doc makes call to check test results from various samples given on Thursday. It's all negative and so not glandular fever, just plain old tonsilitus. Third Party's reaction "does that mean I'm not under house arrest anymore", doctor amused and confirms.

So with Third Party back out and about, just saving on the food bill I decided it was ok to head over to Newcastle after I'd got the medicine. Um, Durham doesn't have a huge number of chemists and the town centre ones were out of stock of medicine. Never mind I could try in Newcastle - also out of stock. Still chemist number 1 of 6 tried had given me phone number to get back to them and order in for Monday if all else failed - so that was done.

The quest for the magic medicine and general am I/ am I not going caused by Third Party's illness meant I had missed meet time for first part of Shipmeet and I didn't have a mobile. Arrived at cafe where the afternoon was meeting and failed miserably to spot anyone who looked like strange Christians off the internet. Went back and spotted some likely looking characters outside, but alas upon enquiry they weren't the right people so headed off to the Laing.

Now I have a couple of hours to spare before hopefully having a more successful evening. Have to laugh at it all though, certain level of "typical" about it. Nothing in my life tends to be really serious but full of detours which are inconvienient, yet interesting.
