First it would help if I could get book titles correct. Book by Alan Jamieson was Journeying In Faith (not through faith) so sorry for anyone I confusicated / confuddled as a result.

I finished last night after another long sitting (think I've read more in the last few weeks than don't know when). Anyway it's an interesting book. It goes beyond giving permission for people on a specific journey outside the church (whether physically or mentally) which I think his first book gives and goes on to give grounded explanations of this, looking at faith in a realistic way, rather than just using social science models (although there are a couple of these).

There is a lovely description of Peter on the beach when the resurrected Jesus calls him again and 'cause he knows the risks involved this time Peter has to stop and think. 'Cause Peter is one of my favourite characters of the bible (due to not ever quite getting that engage brain before mouth thing right) I really thought this was a cool interpretation of that story which had a real depth.

Anyway that and the Tractor Boys being back up in real contention for automatic promotion has got me centred again, I think. (For those of you wondering, yes I really am this shallow in one part of the brain).
