Beyond confuddled, annoyed as heck

Have just read the BBC website report which says exit polls show it was "moral issues" rather than Iraq that decided the American election. Now there is the part of me that wants to write it off as if you need someone to blame blame the Christians. However, Iraq is a moral issue! If one of the issues was the right to life, then somebody needs to make clear it relates to all life not just white, middle class, Western lives of unborn children!

Anyway I just want to say tonight to any American readers (& I don't know if any of you are) that we know nearly half the electorate (about as many people as make up the whole eligable British electorate) voted for Kerry. Those who voted Bush I'm sure had their reasons and aren't bad people, maybe just a little misguided.

Basically, we're thinking of your nation now as the aftermath will begin. As the petition going round stated God does not belong to the Republicans or the Democrats. Let's focus on the healing power of God and pray (some more) for wisdom for Bush and his advisors in what is probably the most difficult job in the world and for those who have to face the reality of the next four years under a president they didn't vote for and in many cases actively opposed.
