Creative response required

Have clicked onto the alt. media piece through the main wibsite home page where the person is talking about why she doesn't describe herself as a christian anymore (if you haven't read it - go and follow the link now it's the no longer Christian link). This is a really interesting piece, but I feel it allows "them" to take ownership of the term and seeks to dis-associate rather than re-claim in many ways.

Have read two really interesting bits in the bible over the last fornight that make me want to seek to go beyond the 'us' and 'them' and really give it all back to God with integrity and move forward with creative responses.

Both are in the Message translation, which I find far easier to deal with:
Matt 5 vs 48 : "...Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you"

and

Hebrews 10 vs 23 (ish - no clear verses so think it's about 23 or 24) "Let's see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out..."

Again I'm left needing to respond but having to work out how. What is a creative, alternative "christian" response to what's going on in Iraq particularly? I'm not sure, but think that I want to go back to commitment to pray every day for a month made @ Spring Harvest (& actually kept) which related to a corporate letter they sent and move this on to an up to date, personal prayer and letter writing action in light of current policy and horiffic situation. Only thing I know is today I am certain that being part of a silent majority is not the answer and even though I don't think writing a letter will do anything, it's better than doing nothing also although not sure how (apart from obviously God was majorly involved) think prayer did impact democratic regime change
in South Africa.

Sorry if this all got a bit strange but @ the moment am finding the blog a good way to solidify thoughts.
