Not a happy bunny

Today I write this with a bit of a confuddled (confusicated) head and as somebody who is not a happy bunny.

We could have gone top!!! We could have been top of the league!!!! We could have managed to win!!!! However, I support the Tractor Boys so of course it wasn't going to happen. I am used to disappointment far more than I am success, so of course I knew that Sunderland were bound to win, and of course they have.

Have been to see Princess Diaries 2 today, but managed to back to hear Sunderland score both their goalson the radio & Ipswich do what they are so good at, disappointing us. Any way enough said about the footie. The film itself was not too bad, it's amazing how much excellent acting can save a film that is distinctly average and Julie Andrews is particularly good as the grandmother. Also there are a few good lines in (not that many, but a few). Still it did mean a certain third party stopped moaning about being bored for a while, so that's good.

Also and why I am confuddled / confusicated is the fact The Anarchist Bookfair is next Saturday in London on the same day as No Shopping Day where the very same types of people are encouraging us to make a stand against global capitalism by buying nothing and spending quality time with our families, etc or just doing something else instead of shopping on what is traditionally the busiest shopping day of the year. Now do they expect us to go to the Bookfair & buy nothing or what? (If you want more details on this the Schnews site is a good place to start).

I say this partly with tounge firmly in cheek, but also as someone who was planning to try and manage no shopping day this year, but also as someone who is actually going to be in London on Saturday, without Third Party and so was actually thinking of going to the Anarchist bookfair. (I have found that the most interesting Sociology type books I pick up tend to either be at festivals, gatherings of slightly lefty types or religious conferences where you can find a mixture of stuff from various alternative presses, etc. (The Baptist Assembly of all places is particularly good for this - found an amazing book this year about Democracy and Participation there about popular protest and new social movements).

Anyway I face a dilemma & have until the weekend to solve it, you would have thought there planning might be better. Anyway will now go away and sulk about the football.
