We are top of the league (& I've been off having adventures)

Many parts to the blog today, as life has suddenly exploded. First of we are top of the league, say we are top of the league!!!!!! (After last weeks disappointments we (that is they, the team, the Tractor Boys) managed to win today against Brighton & Wigan only drew their match so we are top of the Championship (Division 1 old money, Division 2 even older money). Am a very happy tractor girl.

Have been up in the capital having adventure & failing miserably @ observing no shopping day, before coming home & making use of the fact I have mother staying for the weekend.

Friday night, Ralph McTell (of Streets of London & Alphabet Zoo fame) @ festival hall. Absolutely amazing. It was to celebrate his 60th birthday & so they had various people including Cara Dillon who has an amazing voice & London Community Gospel choir. Bit wierd in that he is a "secular" singer & ended the evening doing "In the Bleak Mid Winter", introducing it by saying this isn't the end, it's the beginning of something, so kind of advent reference followed by a carol. Still was a brilliant concert.

Saturday am, up v. early & went wandering round London before ending up @ HMV mega store first off (which is where buy nothing day went out the window, first). Then off to the Tate Modern, which I absolutely adore and really enjoy just wandering around in. Strange I get a real sense of peace in there, think the space helps. Went round a couple of good exhibitions (one photography & one moving images based on real time- may expand tomorrow).

Then it was off to the Anarchist Bookfair before heading home. Was v. good and only bought 1 book & some postcards (& a t-shirt to go in my Christmas stocking)- ok not so good. Book is Schnews at Ten which is basically a social history of alternative politics over the last ten years in a fun way. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in knowing what the papers don't necessarily tell you about alternative politics, but I don't advocate all its contents as the way to solve lifes problems, but they have some reasonable ideas to explore. Also it explains the debt that we owe in some ways to these people (well that's how I see it, although I am a "fluffy" - non-violent pacificst type).

Then tonight back home and finally got to see "the film". Yes have finally got to see Bridget Jones and the Edge of Reason. Enjoyed v.much, but resemblance to the book (um....bit thin).

Anyway that is my excitement over for a while, but has meant I actually have something (or 3 to blog about). Oh and incase I for got to mention it we are top of the league!!!!!!!
