Back to reality

Well, I guess it's time to move on back into reality now my home is back to just Third Party and myself, and after a surreal day @ church where I saw how you carry on whilst still acknowledging the reality of the situation at the moment. (We had such a cool baptism whilst also focusing on the tsunami and the missing)

In order to do that I think I will reflect on the move from the past to the future via the present.

Review of 2004:
Album of the year: American Idiot - Green Day
Festival of the year: Cambridge Folk Festival (Ralph McTell and Old Crow Medicine Show were the highlights)
Non-Fiction Book of the year: Churchless Faith - Alan Jamieson (yes, I know it wasn't published this year, but I only discovered it this year)
Fiction Book of the year: His 'n' Hers - Mike Gayle (Also probably not published this year, but again it was this year I read it for the first time)
Gig of the year: Martyn Joseph
Discovery of the year: Blogging (especially the Wibsite) and Orange Breezer (not normally together, although it would explain my awful spelling if I was mixing them). Issues surrounding life, death and the universe cannot be avoided, however much we would like and both '42' and 'Jesus' are too simple to give full explanations @ times. In the end we have to accept that there are some things we can't understand, or give answers to.
Most positive changes in my life this year: Recycling and more regular bible reading (both as a result of attending the hippy stuff @ Spring Harvest), move from religion to spirituality and starting with the whole blogging thing
Most negative change in my life this year: Becoming far more cynical about "formal church" to the extent it moved from a healthy cynicism to an unhealthy pessiminism for a while

Aims for next year:
To get accepted on and start my MPhil
To learn more moderation with alcohol
To lose 1 stone(ish)
To move forward on the spiritual journey whilst keeping integrity and making sure the actions match the words more (lots less of me, with lots more of Him) (I've realised I think & blogg alot of good intentions, but do very little)
Keep it together
Try & make the blogg a little more interesting and readable
See the Tractor Boys get promotion

That leaves where I am now as my starting point.
Well, I don't know where that is,entirely. However, I don't think that that matters in the greater scheme of things. Tractor Boys are still up there pushing forward (despite yesterdays result), MPhil application is in and I'm awaiting a reply, and as for the rest of it, well go to the archives to get the fuller picture.
