Today it seems like we have a politician working hard to do the right thing (see http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4144411.stm ). Gordon Brown has raised the issue of the repayment of debt by many of the countries the tsunarmi has hit in South Asia. Now we know that cancellation is better than freezing the debt, but it is a move forward. So for once well done to the politicians:-)
At the same time we know debt repayments are just one issue in a much bigger picture, so check out the link to the Make Poverty History website link on the main wibsite home page. Global policy changes will make a difference when the devistation has faded from the headlines, not just there but all over the world.
