Busted have announced they're splitting ( http://www.busted.com/ ) :-(
Ok I'm not heartbroken, but I am a bit sad. The reason that I view the passing of a manufactured, boy band aimed at tweenagers, with regret when I'm old enough to know better? Well, even if they didn't really play the guitars (& that one is still open to debate) they did put a bit of rock into kiddy music (well them and Avril's Sk8ter Boy).
Over the last couple of years Busted has been one of those bands that Third Party and I could agree on.
The band did have a lyrical quality that mixed cheese with what would, in a different time, have been described as indie rock. Personally my favourite track of theirs was Psycho Girlfriend the lyrics of which would have gone straight over the head of most of their audience, but were class, sheer class.
So tonight let us just admit it was fun as another band passes into history.
