Via Jason' blogg (http://jasonclark.emergent-uk.org/) I found a really interesting link to Time Magazine who in the wake of last Novembers election have an issue about American Evangelicals and the top 25.
(Sorry I couldn't get the direct link to Time so you'll have to go back to Jasons blogg and track back through the postings to find the relevant one, it relates to Brian Mclaren coming in @ no. 17).

Anyway although a fair number I hadn't heard of I found it interesting that I owned books by or had borrowed and read books by a few of them. It shows how with modern media for a number their influence is international rather than just national (and no I don't think it's automatically a bad thing, but I do think it helps to be aware of where these people are coming from and what the main audience they are aiming at is, culturally). Also it was interesting to note that althought they may all be united by the media giving them one label in many ways it was actually a very diverse group.

Having read the descriptions of the people in the list I have an idea that if you drew up a list of the top 25 British Evangelicals it would probably have a much lower average age but beyond that I can't go as I'm not entirely sure who would be on the British list. Although if I go back to my bookshelf I might get a few ideas.

(Oh and I will def. get links sorted in a week and a bit when a friend is coming who will be able to help me ;-) )
