Happy culture (1) Post is normally bills or junkmail, but occassionally you get something a little more interesting. Todays post contained the junk mail but it also contained Sociology, the journal of the BSA. Normally I flick through and find one, sometimes two articles that I'm really interested in. However, in this issue there are about four really good articles; 3 of which relate to Religion in Contemporary Britain (Neither Believing and Belonging, Public Religion and Political Change in Wales and Queering Religious Texts: an exploration of British non-hetrosexual Christians' and Muslims' strategy of constructing sexuality-affirming hermeneutics ) and another on Dating, Age and Gender in Postmodern, Consumer Society. Gives me something really interesting to read for a couple of evenings. (Probably sounds about as interesting as watching paint dry to most of you, but we all have our interests).

Happy culture (2) Getting a decent cd for a minimal amount of cash, and this weeks NME fits the bill. The awards CD you get with the magazine this week is well worth a listen. With music from, amongst others: Killers, Green Day, Franz Ferdinand, The Streets and BabyShambles, it's evidence that not all the decent music was produced over 20 years ago after all.

Doesn't take alot to take this Tractor Girls mind off the fact Wigan have knocked Ipswich off the top of the league :-( .
