Why we can't ignore our historical heritage

Thanks to Johnny Baker for alerting us to the fact the Guardian has, for once, stopped bashing Christianity generally and given room for the Don't hand religion to the right

It's a well written article which shows how the religious left has been alienated by the religious right on one hand and secular left on the other. The article is well worth a read because if Christianity is to be a credible alternative for people to consider we need to follow in the footsteps of those who just lived Jesus in the past, and this article helps to reconnect. The idea of faith into action, through alt. living, to try and achieve a more just society where it is recognised we were all created with equal worth is not a late or post modern idea, it has been the base for much of the positive social change within this country and many others in ages past.

In the present age of the so called "Christian Voice" and those who would seek to focus on one aspect of Christian morality in a political battle, forgetting the commands to seek truth and justice in our communities (or to be fair possibly reducing them to second place) is a dangerous thing. So this was a really refreshing article.
