IMPORTANT FESTIVAL INFO

Today, whilst flicking through the Guardian Guide, an advert caught my attention. It was for a new festie that is taking place at Cheltenham Racecourse. Wychwood Festival June 3rd - 5th. Line up looks very good and includes: Steve Earle, Alabama 3, Eliza Carthy, Jim Moray and Show of Hands.

However, I have festie problem number 1: For my birthday my friend bought me a theatre ticket for 4th June and so I really have a prior engagement, but I so want to go and see Steve Earle so I have a huge moral dilemma to solve. Any suggestions greatfully recieved.

So seeing as I'd logged on I thought I would procrastenate a little more (I have so much marking and prep and stuff this weekend I should only be stopping at 3:30 for about 80 minutes plus the interval) and surfed around alittle more to see what other line ups had been announced.

Results for Cropredy and Beautiful Days cause festie problem number 2

Cropredy, besides the great Fairport, has the Dylan Project doing a headline set and The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain and Hamsters are also playing

Beautiful Days has Billy Bragg, Levellers and Wonderstuff so far confirmed as playing.

I cannot go to three festies in a row, Third Party would get a tad upset me thinks (even though she would be likely to go to atleast one of them). In case anyone is wondering Greenbelt completes the holy trinity of festivals being discussed during August and that one is a non-negotiable definate.

Seems like the lineups of everything are just going to be excellent, and so hard decisions are going to be made (guess it will probably come down to how much each costs, etc)
