Once upon a time there was a woman, rapidly heading towards middle age, who read a mailing from a charity and decided that the idea of a night up in London, doing a bit of activism sounded like a fun idea. She would e-mail a bunch of friends and if she was lucky two would respond and it would be cool.

In fact one of her friends responded to the mailing, but this one friend managed to pursuade a bunch of others that this seemed like a good idea. At this point the middle aged woman began to feel reality catch up with her, and wonder if this was really such a good idea.

As time moved on middle aged woman has become more worried, after a hard week at work how will she stay awake all night?, If she stays awake all night what about the daughter she is taking along? (on the logic that said daughter is experienced at festivating - Glastonbury, Guildfest and Greenbelt and has more than once been on a protest- anti - war, save the local A&E, etc it seemed a good idea at the time). Is she (rapidly approaching middle age) really too old for this type of thing, and should it be left to the young? Is she being a responsible mum?

However, at the end of the day it is a for a v.g. cause and should be a bit of a laugh, and will be good to catch up with the possee from Tractor Land.

As you can tell the enthusiasm is there and the will to help make poverty history but said woman heading for middle age appears to be starting to think like "normal" people and getting a bit of what is sometimes called a reality check. Tune in next time to hear if she was too old or if she was worrying about nothing.
