Authenticity / Appropriateness

Brian Turner has an interesting article on The Ooze about authenticity and how it can become a sin, if it is used as an excuse to just do what ever you like.

Think there are valid points in the article, but think that the problem isn't about authenticity, rather with appropriateness. There was a guy preaching at our church today who briefly mentioned appropriateness when coming into the presence of God. - we were looking at Moses, so I'm not going to get side tracked into the debate that started going on in my head about, aren't we in the presence of God anyway?

I think Turner has a point, but we should be looking at the appropriateness of our behaviour in all situations to think, "is it appropriate?" and that could then deal with the authenticity issues Turner seems to be addressing.

Also cheese is the order of the day (and yesterday):
Moldova and Norway were true Eurovision Cheese , and how come Germany scored so little?

Today cheese came in the form of chorus to the tune of the Flint Stones

Again, that's one where you don't need to ask "is it authentic?" but rather "is it appropriate?" - This morning it was, but it's a fine line ;-)
