The art students are currently hosting their end of year exhibition and so I went for a wander around today. Whilst lots of it was pretty standard art and quite pretty some of it was really interesting and as good as some of the stuff I've seen in professional galleries.
My fave pieces were:
A bondage suit which was mainly fabric but also had metal chains attached
Some photos of graffiti which proclaimed "art should be constructive"
A piece which had a head on the paper, but was primarily text talking about finding a dead body as the source of a fly infestation
A picture of a panda with some stick figure aliens mixed in
A patchwork quilt which was superimposed with bullet holes and blood (or something representing blood)
As you can probably tell the stuff which was inspired by the spirit of punk was the stuff which I most connected with. It had that mix of being fun and dark at the same time aswell as very visually attractive.
