Ok, have got over the wobbles I had the other day about "making myself vunrable" through sharing my story with a bunch of strangers (like I haven't been doing that on here for the last 9 months anyway). So on we go.
To catch up with where story is up to, I have currently entered my first year teaching (the job I am soon to finish).
When I went in I said that my IT skills were my weakest area, but I guess people didn't think they could be that weak. Anyway slowly and surely, in the same way as a child thrown into the deep end and forced with the choice between swimming or drowning, my IT skills developed and so did my teaching generally.
I was lucky to be in a really supportive team situation. However, towards the end of the year the ideal job for me came up teaching Sociology. So I prepared, I prayed and I screwed up the interview, basically by being a little to honest when asked where I wanted to be in 5 years time (I'm not certain on that, but it's what I think).
Anyway in the way these things happen although I failed to get the job I did get the consalation prize of the part time post which emerged (partly as a result of realising they had had two good candidates and so could offer an extra group).
Anyway that was the start of a partnership that was and is our Sociology department (the job I am keeping). So as we entered the next year I was teaching two subjects and yet again was kind of in at the deep end and starting to follow a pattern of life which has happily lasted for three years.
However all things come to an end and so in 3 weeks time it's all change. So here we are at the end of the story or rather at the end of the chapter and the beginning of the next .....Keep reading here for what ever is coming in the next chapter.
