Yes it is complicated, but as John Davies quotes on his blogg when a six year old was asked why she was marching she said, ""Because we get three square meals a day and they don't get any."
As John continues "Campaigning does get more complicated than that but, really, she summed it all up for the rest of us. The children mixed their sense of festive fun on the fields today with profound seriousness at this straightforward injustice, they understood that more just trade rules would address it, and had an experience which formed many of them into campaigners."
And on a final note, at the end of the rally I took the opportunity to get a piccie of my own little campaigner with Gordon Brown, her comment "He needs to get a new aftershave, it stunk". Her simple comment on what we were doing up there, which she wrote somewhere during the day "Stand up, Speak up and End Poverty" :D
