Not sure if anybody else has noticed, but there seems to be a glut of decent music about at the moment, in a range of styles.
Today I would like to recommend to you the following:
The Magic Numbers debut album of the same name is extremely chilled. In many ways similar to the Polyphonic Spree in its chilled out, floaty, hippy feel; the harmonies and strings on tunes like Which Way to Happy and This Love almost make you feel like you are travelling on whatever cloud they're sitting on. Due to the nature of the music, it's a grower but it's really good to relax to and seems to sound better with each listening.
Alternatively you could go for the kick ass, indie-punk, comedy of The Kaiser Chiefs on Employment. With tunes like Everyday I Love You Less and Less and I Predict a Riot they are immeadiately recogniseable and don't take any time to grow on you. They are one of those love 'em, or just view them as over-rated type bands, on immeadiate hearing. Personally I fall into the love 'em camp, & reckon they're nearly as good as Maximo Park but not quite.
Whatever enjoy it, the mid 00's is shaping up to be a really good time for new music.
