Q. When is a festival at its most civillised?
A. When it is a family festival with an eclectic line up in a leafy,urban, home counties environment - within walking distance of the city centre and a certain supermarket with orange lettering.
So it was that this weekend the festivating took place at Guildfest
Highlights:
Finding out the Shane McGowan was looking slightly more healthy than last time he played there with The Pogues and having a good night dancing, singing partying to them on Friday.
Dancing the night away to Status Quo on Sunday. Particularly as it came to pass that after they had finished their set god himself came on stage and sent us all off home with the opening two lines of his greatest parable (Two Little Boys).
Low Lights: I could say, but I don't like to be negative, particularly when music is subjective.
