Bit of a messy one (post that is - not life)

Well I had intended finishing Greenbelt posts and then moving on to the rest of life, but last week somehow exploded.
Back from Greenbelt on Tuesday totally shattered, work on Wednesday and Thursday (v. busy), Third Party started secondary school on Friday and I went off to a sociology conference for the weekend. So as it is I have not posted myself or had the chance to catch up on anybody else for a while. Particularly apologies to Jen who posted a comment I have only just come across. (Um, may do the Greenbelt techy thing if I can work out all this tag business, but may well decide am too busy sorting the rest of life).

So Greenbelt was cool, would seriously recommend the Karen Armstrong talk to anybody interested in hearing an interesting and informed lecture on Fundamentalism, which can be understood by all (and if any of you have to go near the subject of fundamentalism ademically you really do need to listen to this - well worth the investment). Also in light of the recent events in the Gulf of Mexico (God be with the suffering) I would argue that the John Bell talk Trees Clapping, Mountains Skipping (GB05-010 on the order form) is vital listening. I didn't get to hear him at the festival, but have listened to the talk today & it is just an ickle appropriate to say the least. He begins by charting changes in climate and effect on communities and puts it all in a biblical context and then leaves it in a way which does not give answers and solutions but rather encourages us to pray, think and make our own decisions on how to respond.

Over all Greenbelt was v.cool and enjoyable and that sums it up. Sorry if this has all got a bit rambly, but brain has been overloaded with v.good talks and information over the last 10 days (Greenbelt and Conference) and I just need to chill, and start to develop putting the christian meditation techniques I learnt at Greenbelt into practice.
