Ok, so I really don't do classical music (it does my head in), but I do enjoy a bit of tradition. Tonight was the
The Last Night of the Proms & I finally cracked it by just watching the last 40 minutes, or so - (this is the bit when it turns into a bit of a sing-a-long of stuff that people have actually heard of). It's one of those things that makes you understand how nationhood can be celebrated in a healthy and enjoyable way.
It seemed to have changed & have live links to a number of cities around the UK & there was the inclusion of a number of regional numbers (The Sky Boat Song, Danny Boy and something in Welsh). Still that was cool, because they were still songs people had heard of.
