Well, as regular readers will know I have been following No Sex We're Teenagers with a kinda interest, yet healthy(?) cynicism. However, having watched the final episode and seen what the teenagers have got is not some idea that sex has to just be within marriage, but rather through making responsible decisions about their bodies and use of alcohol, etc they can have more confidence and and feel better about themselves and gain more respect from those around them I am impressed.
The programme did give a real insight into young people today, both of the age I come into contact with and those a bit younger. As a parent of somebody who is entering that period of their life when they will start to discover these issues I found this quite useful. Third Party watched some of the programmes with me and I hope she took on board some of the things the teenagers were saying and will keep them in mind in 3 or 4 years time when they may become real issues.
If you want to read a bit more about the programme or find some useful links try the LICC site or The Romance Academy site, (which is the site of the project which was being featured in the programme).
