It's another day, and it seems another disaster. It's another set of people whose lives have been devistated by the effects of nature.
Lord today we pray for those caught up in this situation and displaced or made homeless by this disaster
We can't really explain it
So Lord we just pray that you will give:
Comfort to all of those who are bereaved
Healing to those who are injured, physically or emotionally
Hope to all of those who are searching
Strength to all those who have to rebuild now
Wisdom to all those who have to make decisions regarding resources
Compassion to the watching world
Lord forgive us if we have compassion fatigue
Forgive us if we focus first on the colour of the skin of those involved or their nationality or religion rather than their humanity and treat this as another media event
Bless all the organisations who are going to be involved in the relief effort: Islamic, Christian, Hindu and Secular (and any others)
