Even doing nothing has to be an activity

Yesterday I managed to have a nothing day, one of those complete slob out days which turns into a day of true relaxation and family time, it was wonderful - just what we needed, (although a Welsh win would have made it perfect).

However, in a world when even taking time out has become associated with planned activity (or planned inactivity) I find it difficult to cope with, because it also induced alot of guilt that I should have been doing something. This is mad & to me shows what a screwed up world we (or atleast I) live in.

I was doing something, sharing quality time with Third Party; chilling with hot chocolate and toast in front of the rugby and then eating ice-cream with MTV on in the background, but basically just chatting. However, in our mixed up world this "inactivity" is seen as wasting time because:

I could have been marking or doing prep for work
I could have been reading for my uni course
I could have been starting my essay
I could have been cleaning the house
I could have been doing something "proper" that cost money with Third Party, and so provided education or exercise aswell
I could have been practising my French, which I've started learning

In short I could/ should have been doing something more productive, but really would it have been?
