Let us remember

Today is rememberance day, when we remember the human cost of armed conflict.
Through organisations such as The British Legion we remember those men and women who have given their lives in war, those who are left living with those losses, and those who have been involved in those conflicts, on behalf of our governments (and by extension us) who remain living with the memories and in some cases injuries.

We also remember the civillians who have died as a result of war.

As we stand at 11:00 on the 11th of November, in silence, reflection and rememberance may we remember the sentiments of the original armistice day, which were the hope "never again", but also pray for those who are and have been caught up in armed conflict now.

Lord today we remember
We remember the young men and women who gave their lives
In the 1st and 2nd world wars and in other conflicts over the last century
Those support staff who lost their lives
Those civillians who have died,
Those who have lived, but bear the memories and scars
Lord we remember those dying now in armed conflict
We pray for their families
We pray for those politicians involved in making the decisions
Lord we pray for your forgiveness and healing today
And Lord, in hope and rememberance, we pray never again.
