Worth a Read

Soil and Soul by Alastair McIntosh is very readable, but is not an easy read. Perhaps that is why although I bought it at Greenbelt and started it early in September I have only just finished it, (or it may show just how little time I've had in the last few months ;-) ).

It is a book that has the sub-title on the front People versus Corporate Power, but is way more than that. It addresses: Scottish history, (& through that the role of the English as oppressor of indigenous peoples), a range of theological issues including the role of Celtic Christianity, liberation and ecotheology and Calvinism, environmental economics and issues of social responsibility, the role of the story teller and artist, and the way that the current academic system operates amongst other things. However, it is not a text book, or a heavy book rather it is a story book.

It is a book, I found you can read on different levels according to your knowledge, interests and awakeness. In short worth a read, highly recommend this one.
