World Aids Day and the figures are staggering. I know behind every statistic there is a person / family / community who are suffering, but to be honest the figures are so vast that I can't really comprehend it.
It also winds me up that to a large extent it is a preventable disease which parts of the church, due to their views on contraception, are actually contributing to the spread of. We have to face the fact that again people are dying as a result, not of ignorance, but of theological intrangegence in some parts of the world.
