Another prayer idea

Last week you got this post about prayer in our contempory world; (one of an occassional series). Today I would like to share another suggestion which works for me, which some of you may find useful.

One of the few moments we get in our busy lives is when we are logging onto our computers and waiting for them to load. It is a ritual most of us tend to engage in at the beginning of our working day. At work I have a little prayer card thing above my desk, which is an extract from a larger Celtic prayer / blessing thing, and I just use the extract as a prayer to start the day. I simply pray it in order to commit the day, what's already buzzing in my head and those I am going to come into contact with to God, whilst I am waiting for the computer to load.

I find it really useful as a form of one minute prayer chilling with God time, which can be useful for centring you at the beginning of the day, but also a way to "say good morning to God", and acknowledging Him in the scheme of things. Particularly useful on those mornings when the alarm hasn't gone off, you can only find one shoe, realise that you haven't done half of what you needed to for the day, have missed the bus you needed to get, have found the coffee machine has broken down and then get to work to find due to a superbug you are manning your office alone.
