On the same day as meeting my heroes I continued to have a rather grand time. Twice a year the Hosue of Chops has a large charity book sale. For some reason we get let in early for an hour to pick out the gold. For those who have read this blog for a while food is something I love and has become a bit of a hobby for me. I found a 1975 cookbook called the Schauer cook book it seems it originated her in the City of Chops and has been around for many many years and was regularly updated. I sat with Mrs Lovely One and just read out the gold to her. I think excerpts from the book will replace the literacy chart when it is done.
Here is a example:
Cheese Sandwiches (how hard can it be I hear you ask)
1/2lb cheese finely-grated, 1 boiled egg, 1 dessertspoon Worcestershire Sauce, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon mustard. Mix all together in a apsste and use in Sandwiches or on toast for savouries. 1/2 cup of celery may be included.
I don't wish to be rude that is hardly a cheese sanger at all. It is more like a egg and cheese sanger with other stuff. Crazy Crazy times.
I received an unusual call about the book sale. Some child had vomited over some books. I found out later that the child was in a pram and the books were in the pram too and then whammo puked over the books so the mother took them out of the pram and left them on the concrete!! Classy right there. When I called it through to the poor people who look after that. I asked if they could attend as a child had leaked from the mouth over some books. I just feel tacky saying vomited or ralphed over the radio so I try and cover it up as much as possible.
Till Next Time Stay CLassy,
Chops
