Broken Ipod Blues!!

I knew the inevitable would happen. I just didn't think it would be this soon. But I know for others it happened a lot quicker. My precious Ipod died. I put it on the charge the other day and it froze on the boot up screen and nothing would work. It is completely motionless.

When your Ipod dies you are supposed to go to the support webpage and follow 5 r's. I did this several times and nothing still happened. So I called the good man who sounded like he was based on the sub continent or somewhere. He was very pleasant but his english phrasing just seemed a little odd and a little practiced.

After the usual diagnostics and me telling him what happened and that I followed the 5 r's. He then diagnosed my Ipod as being broken. And because it is still under warranty they would replace it. All i had to do was get an email which he would send me. Then print out the attachment which would be a label. Take the Ipod and the label to my local post office where they would give me "a broken ipod" box and then send it back and within 8-10 days they would send me a new one. He apologised profusely for the hassle. I then asked if I could take it into a store and would that be quicker service. He typed in my address and asked which was closer the city I live in or a city 4 hrs away.

I then after work took it to the local dealer and went through the process all over again. It seems in 4-5 days they will call me to pick up my new Ipod. I am wondering seeing that they no longer make my model and they told me it would be a brand new unit would I be getting an upgrade in size.

Till Next Time I Would Happily Receive A Bigger Ipod,
