Part II
Things only get better 15 minutes before the main act go on the promoter asks me where the spotlight operators are. Trying to be professional I ask how many was that. But on the inside I was "We don't have any booked for this". I then passed my urgent request on to the house tech that was on duty. Surprisingly he
also did not know about it. So we chucked him on one of the spotlights and thankfully one of the ushers is normally a lighting technician. So we threw her up onto the other spotlight. I really wanted to kick heads after that. But the client was happy with the way to managed to avoid possible disaster. Cool I thought. The one big thing that went wrong has happened and I can now enjoy the show. It was about ten minutes before the show. The I noticed it was a bit more light than it should be. Someone had turned the catwalk lights on up in
the roof. It was one the maintenance guys who was trying to fix a problem with the house lights. But it just looked really tacky, as the room was more light than it was and you could see a guy walking around up there.

So the show was about to start and the house lights were to go off and the band takes the stage. But the House tech that was there for that was on the spotlight. So the lighting crew for the band managed to turn all of the house lights off bar one section. So the band would not take the stage. So everyone sat there for about 2 minutes while it was finally turned off. Let me just tell you every second seems like a very long time. All the time the client is barking at me and wanting answers. But it is very hard when the client are still talking to you and you can't go onto another channel and discuss the issue with the relevant department. But they finally went off and the show went on. It was a great show and a wonderful time had by all. I really wanted to go and
scored a couple of free tickets but I had to work but the lovely one still went with a friend of ours. I did get to watch some of the show from side of stage which was cool. And apart from three things going quite wrong in a half an hour. It was ultimately all good. I hung around to the band left and it was time for me to rock on and get a feed. But as they left the the favourite band memeber bumped into me again. This time with one of those little bags on wheels. Something about pizza tastes extra good at 1am.

Once again emergencies diverted and a wonderful time had by all. But to the general public it all went ok. Except my friends who saw me rushing around knew something was up. One fot he great thing of the jobs is that we do things that peopel don't notice but if it wasn't done you would notice. That makes sense in my mind.
