I am not a huge fan of generalisations even though I use them fairly regularly
on a broad range of topics. But one thing that fascinates me is that people do
actually tend to fall into those broad generalisations. Recently we had a world
renowned expert on a topic come and speak. His topic fits into a very specific
sub culture. I would say 80% of those in the audience stood out as members of
that sub culture by their dress and hair for a example. Some interesting things
happened. People wanted to sit as groups so they just grabbed seats from the
back to extend the row so they could all sit together. A little problem with
that is you can't extend rows over a certain length due to needing to evacuate
in a emergency. But also fitting in with the sub culture everyone was very
accepting of my request to return their seats back to where they got them from.
A very peace loving group you could really feel the love. Normally it doesn't
happen at all people don't move chairs on their own accord but on the one or two
other times they have they get very angry when you ask them to move the chair
back.

The one thing I never really thought that would come out of this line of work is
a increased ability to read humans and human nature. I think I may have
possessed it before but it has definitely been heightened since I joined the
crazy rock n roll lifestyle of event management. Or maybe it is being in the
church has enabled me to read people. But it does seem to be a floorie trait
especially amongst the male of the species.
