Gentle Reader this here blog will be a slight bit of a smapler of some things after the last couple of days.
Santa was very kind and purchased Herr Chops with the set of noise cancelling headphones. Very handy for a man about to spend quite a bit of time in a plane. Other highlights included a lava lamp and the U2 by U2 book. It is such a good read. It is a real shame that it is so big and cumbersome. I would love to take it on the trip otherwise. We spent the day with both sides of the family and as usual ate quite a bit. For those thinking that this was a little lacking on the spiritual side we have a Christmas eve service so we don't have one on Christmas day.
My nephews are staying with my parents for few days. I was the nanny for these two when they were much smaller than they are today. The oldest nephew whom we will call OOTB (not his real name) is 13 and turns 14 in 3 months. He is a cm or two taller than uncle. The great part for uncle is that he does not know of the brute strength that he possesses. Because I can still get him to call mercy when I attack him and he still can not resist my tickle attacks. His smaller littler brother also has a great cackle of a laugh which have also heard over the last few days.
We had our last team meeting last night before the big trip. It was the usual sort of briefing that one has with these sort of trips. Our team leader Happy Boy gave us his words of wisdom and said stuff like if you have any questions ask me or Chops. If there are any issues just ask me or Chops. I think I may be in for some baby sitting. I won't whinge about it too much, it is my role in the group. I enjoy it ofr the most part but it can get a bit tiring. People tend to not think when there is someone else to do it for them. That is the bit that frustrates me the most I guess.
So Gentle Reader in just a few hours I shall be winging my way to South Africa. We got our detailed schedules yesterday and it looks like some early mornings and late nights are ahead. The early mornings seem to be so we can see lions & tigers and elephants Oh my!! I think we are going to the African equivalant of the Bullens lions safari. But this is a bit more real i think.
I may update to you all later today from glamourous Hong Kong where we have a 4 hour transit.
Till Next Time Please Be Praying For Our Trip,
Chops
