We have a international conference with a very small international contingent. So to give the vibe of the importance of the few international visitors they place various international flags around the railings of where the gig is. It is quite a common thing to see. But the conferences that are truly international with a laerge overseas contingent don't fly the flags very often.
So when one gives riggers the job of placing the flags up you don't think much about it. How hard is gaffing flags to a railing? Well if anyone can get it wrong our boys can. As previously discussed in this blog. Flag flying is more difficult than first thought and has quite strict rules and protocols to it. So most of the flags had to be changed and turned around so the union jack for instance was in the left corner. Flags with stripes also run a certain way. Which can be quite a tricky thing to master.
So the boys spent an hour putting them up and then another hour putting them up again in exactly the same spot. Because as soon as you think it is no big deal and no one will notice. They did and caused the changes.
So Till Next Time Check The Rules First,
