There are days when I have the conviction that one can truly be too efficient to their own detriment. Take for instance the other day. The client called and said we need our golf buggy. Best to leave it alone and just go with the facts on this one. No worries I said in my usual happy go lucky tone. Trying to figure out which nook and cranny in the whole of the house of Chops that it had been stored in. It had been stored by the table and chairs guys in the storeroom at the back of one of the halls. Great place to put it out of the way and all. The only thing was the Hall was empty when the cart was placed in there but now was fit to bursting with one of the biggest shows of the year. There were hard wooden cases and fridges in cases and then in the middle of it
all was one out of place golf cart.
Robin was the lucky floorie who found it and said "Oh Chops you will want to see this" When I got to the storeroom I could hear Robins voice but not see him. Things were truly that bad. I was about to start crying at this unwinnable predicament. Then the Rainbow Connection turned up he dropped some rude words and then calmly stood back and took account of the situation and figured out we could do it. There was a tiny path formed already. All it took was to measure the dimensions of the cart and then the gaps and see how we go. It is amazing what floories carry in their utility belts or as normal people call them suits. The Rainbow Connection pulled out a tape measure. He then got behind the wheel and as in the scene from Austin Powers proceeded to do the worlds first 85 point turn. We got sick of his minor jostling the vehicle back and forth to get it through the tight corner. So we hefty lads lifted the golf cart around the corner. After some of the finest precision driving I have ever seen the vehicle was out in about ten minutes. The Rainbow Connection really came through for us this time. It was a very supreme display of driving and calm leadership.
Then when we delivered it to the client and as usual they had no idea what adventures and dangers were endured to get them a happy end result. So once again the victory went to the good guys.
Till Next Time Don't Park That Golf Cart There,
