Dear Gentle Reader it is with my utmost apologies for a lack of keeping you up to date with the world of Chops. The whirlwind that is my life does not seem to stop. I don't know if I have ever recovered from the whole Africa experience. It was very positive please do not misread my words. But it was a deeply affecting sort of trip. it has changed my perceptions of the world. I think it has even changed the way I view governments and people groups. I think I was quite naive and have a renewed vision for what people will do to others just
controlled by self interest and wholesale greed.

One of the most challenging days we had was the day we walked through the Apartheid museum. It was not the most cheeriest of places. It did take an effort to provide both sides of the story and show some balance. it showed that wrong was done by both sides of the equation. As I walked through and saw numerous videos of government ministers declare what they were doing was the Christian thing to do and the right thing to do morally. I got angry. It started to boil up in me. I am not the angriest of people but ti really started
to affect me. I got hit over the head pretty soon.

I realised very quickly that massive injustice is still happening today and in my own country. That the injustices done to refugees and our own indigenous is disgraceful. I also realised that I am complicit in the whole matter because I am doing nothing to rectify the situation or see that situation come to an end. I started praying about it and called Mrs Lovely One so that she knew what was going on and that I would not get back and then do nothing about it. I believe our governments are very clever and keep these sort of issues out of the spotlight. Issues like compulsory detention for men, women and children and the life expectancy of our indigenous in the Land of Chops is much lower than every other category.

I know this blog is not as fluffy as this blog often is. But the issues like this need to be discussed.

Till Next Time Maintain The Rage,

Chops
