We are currently in the old capital on a island off the coast and it is just paradise. Sorry to rub that in. We are staying at the royal hotel which is this slice of colonial history the oldest still running pub in the pacific.
Over the weekend the Hong Kong 7's rugby was on and being the national sport here it was every where. We went down down to Kim Paak's China Lounge for dinner and saw all these guys at the store standing outside. They were watching the rugby. I asked what the next game was and it was NZ vs Australia. I stood with the locals and watched the all blacks teach us how to play 7's. This was much to my chagrin and much to the delight of the locals. When I told them I was a aussie one of them erupted into Aussie Ausie Aussie Oi Oi Oi. I skulked away at the end of the game.
Several hours later I walked back past the shop and they all recognised me and commiserated with me on the defeat. Oh well, at least I have come to know the locals a little and they know me too.
Till Next Time Go the Wallabies!!,
