We had a gig last week that got national attention and maybe even a little international press. It attracted the usual crowd of protestors. It was so controversial that Roy and H.G mentioned in the opening of their show last week.
There had been a lot of hype in the lead up about the protestors. We scaled up security and the Police were there too. When it finally happened it was all of 20 protestors. They did get quite noisey and all but thye set up banners declaring that the industry they were protesting against were really really bad and such. They were so committed they had banners in 4 different languages. But at the end of the day I am not sure if they convinced one of those delegats to leave their job or change anything they do as part fo that industry. I am not sure if banners in 4 different languages even convinced people at home to no longer use the products of that industry. But I guess they felt they had to do something.
But I guess it gave plenty of security guards some extra work. It also gave guests to the House of Chops something to laugh about. I know a guy who was entering the building for something completely different. As he entered they yelled " Hey Mate before you go in there think about it?" He wasn't sure what he was to think about but he assured me he would.
