The past week has been on of endless excitement and trying to shake off the after effects of the virus I picked up.
I had to go to Heathrow for a meeting on Thursday and stayed over in the Travel Dislodged opposite the office. One of the highlights was the taxi I had from the restaurant back to the hotel. I had to give the driver directions as he had no idea where he was going. I'd forgotten how bad private hire drivers could be.
My night's sleep was disrupted by the air conditioning system, then the flights landing and taking off and then the builders demolishing the remnants of the building next door. Did I mention that Terminal 5 was just across the roundabout over the M25?
Then there was the cooked breakfast. This is priced at £7.50 and is an eat all you want buffet. Needless to say that the dried bacon, congealed baked beans and odd looking scrambled eggs did not inspire me to eat anywhere near £7.50's worth. It was also odd that the "restaurant" had no knives. You really needed one to cut the bacon as opposed to ripping it apart with your fingers.
