Sunday Afternoon

Following my exertions in preaching Sunday morning, it was followed by 2 hours with the youth group in the afternoon. My sermon mentioned that Christian's actually work 7 days a week, when serving God. Last week felt like that.

I must say that the afternoon session was very, very surprising. This week saw us with 12 kids to manhandle, 3 of whom were new. They were foster children whose foster parents had recently been members of a large, well known church in Oldrum. Unfortunately, as happens with this church, they had had a major falling out and left. I won't mention the church's name, as this would be unfair, but you can see them regularly on satellite TV.

One of the children comes to the Eagles group we hold on a Friday for the 5-7's. No we've managed to get the older 3 to the youth group. I'm praying that they'll keep coming.

We had the usual games followed by tea but by the time I'd packed all the stiuff away it was too late to do the God bit. I need to talk to Pastor Chugabug and The Quiet Man to get the order reversed, so we have the important part first; otherwise its just a place to play and not pray.
