Things Never Go As Planned

After waking at 06:00hrs this morning one was obviously disappointed when First Wife decided that getting wet on a walk was not her idea of fun. Why are women so easily detered from taking a walk in the countryside?

Then, after getting ready and joking about the possibility, brother in law rings to say that sister is currently asleep and will not be participating in the Starbucks visit. Saturday was seriously going wrong before it started.

Taking advantage of the occasion First Wife pulls the duvet up and announces that she is tired and needs more sleep. There was no way I was going to get anymore sleep so I headed to Starbucks on my own. At least something positive could be salvaged from the day.

After meandering around Newport, always an exciting and exhilerating event, I decided to go home and continue with the day's plans.

Then I discovered that work had also decided to contribute to my Saturday of crappiness. Can't anyone be relied on to do their jobs properly? Oh, how I hate working with Americans.... Not you Sienna, you're an adopted Welsh person now.

However the afternoon looked up. We managed to clear the Cupboard of Doom (cue Twilight Zone music); do most of our Christmas shopping - the internet is a wonderful thing, especially for us shopaphobics - and I managed to see 5 mnutes of football but got to see The Rockford Files and Monk instead - Woo Hoo!

This evening sees me get to spend quality time with the TV...... Probably won't be anything on though.
