Today has been one of those mmmm...... days that you sometimes get.
Everything that could have gone wrong in recent days, to do with work, has. Things aren't where they should be when they should be. The things you put down have got up and moved away.
To give one example I was told that a 5 tonne aircraft engine was not where it should be. Some people may think it hard for a 5 tonne piece of machinery to go missing. Not in my experience. I know that BA have "misplaced" a few 11 tonne ones that are 4.5m tall and wie before now.
So where did it turn out to be? In the customers hanger in Mexico City. Where should it have been??? In the customer's hanger in Mexico City. Maybe they wanted a few more days without having to pay leasing charges on it. At $30K+ a day that's a lot of pesos to avoid paying.
Now I'm still sat at work waiting for a tonne of steel to arrive from the US. Ho Hum!!
At least wifey has given me a website to look at. We're thinking of getting the young people in chapel involved in setting up a Fairtrade Cooperative. I'm just looking at the site to get some info. They've already said they're keen to help with Tearfund, as I'm now the church rep, and to promote Fairtrade fortnight in March.
I think that this sort of thing is where I need to put more of my efforts. Getting them interested in learning about the wider world, and how they can impact to make a difference, is a great way of helping them to find Jesus and the church's relevance to modern life.
