Frosty the Snowman

Had a very relaxing weekend. Still felt rough for most of it but managed to survive ok.

It was great to wake-up yesterday morning to find snow on the ground. My first snow of the year. There wasn't much of it but it did mean the postponement of our Fairtrade service until next week. At least gave First Wife and I the opportunity to have a good Sunday lunch at our local cafe.

The snow had cleared enough to give me the opportunity to attend our bi-monthly deacons' meeting in the afternoon. Thankfully we managed to get a lot sorted, this doesn't always happen.

Returned home in time for a relaxing night in front of the TV.

Just to clear something up:

Starbucks happen to sell Fairtrade coffee and are only to happy to ensure that your drink is made from it. Starbucks is also not a chain in the normal sense of the word. Many branches are franchises owned by local people who pay a royalty for use of brand name and a share of profits to cover advertising and promotion. it isn't quite the global monster many believe.

In addition there is only 1 other place in Newport that sells Fairtrade coffee and that happens to be on Newport railway station - not the quietest of places to relax and enjoy your coffee.
