Sunday, Sunday

Today was billed as "relaxing" day. A day when I had little to do - no part to play in the service, no sunday school class, no youth. All I needed to do was install my mum's broadband connection and visit my sister and her family. Well that was the plan.....

As we all know:

1. Nothing goes to plan
2. Plan for every eventuality & watch the plan go out the window
3. The best laid plans of mice and men
4. Plan ahead and listen to God laugh

Installing mum's broadband took the best part of 3 hours. Why? Well I'm not a technological imbecile, as some think. I put it firmly at the doors of Tiscali, mum's chosen provider. The installation CD loaded; then things went wrongish.

I sat and watched as the scren said "installing modem software". For the best part of 30 minutes. I then thought "screw this", rebooted and went and did something else. When I came back we'd reached stage 1 of the procedure. Stage 2 followed quickly and the screen said "the next screen could take up to 30 seconds". 20 minutes later stage 3 appeared.

After this everything went smoothly. Yet, by the time I'd loaded the anti virus, Microsoft Office, a firewall and a quick internet tutorial, 3 hours had passed.

Then my sister was unable to accomodate a visit as they hadn't returned from Scotland until around midnight on Saturday and they were running behind schedule on Sunday's activities. At least we've got 3 extra Easter Eggs to eat, if we weren't on diets....
