While visiting Goodrich Castle with FW last weekend we overheard the following exchange:
"Why was this castle built?"
"It was built to keep out the maurading Welsh bands and keep them under control. Probably around the time of William."
"Oh, you mean William the Conqueror and his Roundheads...."
Then FW started to get carried away imagining the castle under attack by the Welsh. She started crying "Die Welsh scum." Then changed this to an image of a mass of Welsh attackers answering these to cries with:
"That's me! I'm Dai Scum!!!"
We did get one or two odd looks at this point.
