Work

Today has been spent mainly relaxing at work and actually doing ome work. These are very tiring past times I can tell you.

I had my annual review on Friday. It was great that a guy I've met twice in 3 months gets to write about my achievements in the last 12 months and my aims for the future. It turns out that this should have been completed by March, by my previous boss.

At least the new guys got his brain in gear. He recognises the stupidity of doing a review once a year. He, like me, is a believer in rolling reviews so that you are measured on a year's work and not what can be remembered from the last few weeks.

The part I enjoyed the most was the question regarding my aims and career with the company. On being told that I saw no career with the company he was most taken aback. Then I described the promises that had been made to me in the last six years and understood the company's inability to deliver. We've therefore agreed that we'll start looking at things over the next few months.

I've heard nothing but good things from people who've worked with him at other companies. I just hope that he stays.
